Endesa acquires GasAtacama Chile SA from Enel SpA (pending)

CHILE - Empresa Nacional de Electricidad SA {Endesa}, a unit of the subsidiary Enersis SA of Endesa SA's Endesa Latinoamericana SA unit, planned to acquire the remaining ##% interest, which it did not already own, in GasAtacama Chile SA, a Las Condes-based provider of gas transmission services, from Southern Cross Group. Terms were not disclosed, but according to sources familiar to the situation, the transaction was valued at an estimated CLP ##.### bil (USD ###.## mil). Endesa SA was a unit of Enel SpA's Enel Energy Europe SRL.
